Production manager

Provides leadership to the production organization, reporting to the Ops Manager, a member of the plant leadership team that supports manufacturing 

Responsibilities:

Define, plan and execute department goals including safety, quality, cost, and cycle time in alignment with business goals
Direct and/or coordinate production, processing, distribution of manufacturing
Provide timely and accurate reporting on department operations to site leadership
Achieves budgetary targets for spend
Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints
Responsible for annual performance reviews. Coach and train employees to improve performance and work closely with HR to develop and build a high-performance manufacturing team
Administers the HSEP program for the department and/or manufacturing area; accountable for compliance with and enforcement of all corporate and regulatory HSEP standards and procedures
Ensure that proper training and communication is provided for all personnel in production areas
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage related projects
Drive Lean activities in production area
Ensures activities are performed in a safe manner and environment
Ensures all employees are knowledgeable of, and comply with all company policies, practices, and standards
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field
Several years in Production Management or Leadership role
Ability to make independent decisions, be self-motivated, possess excellent communications skills, detail-oriented, and team player
Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
A strong customer focus (internal and external)
Proven ability to coach others
Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain systems and shop floor control
Experience in lean manufacturing, preferred
