Tanbark Molded Fiber is a startup that was founded in 2022 with a mission to help provide alternatives to plastic packaging. About the Opportunity:

Maintenance tasks will be of a high technical nature including work on pumps, motors/servos, agitators, compressed air systems, valves, piping, pneumatic and hydraulic components, chemical feed systems, instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and control systems. The successful candidate will be given tasks that require electrical, mechanical and production facilities knowledge, as well as skill in the operation of heavy equipment including a forklift and scissor lift.

The role will be an opportunity to be a part of a fast paced, start-up environment with autonomy to help assist with the scaling of a large manufacturing facility. The role will require effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure optimum operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements of all equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical components, correct issues as necessary to maintain productivity and/or quality standards
Control downtime by communicating with all departments
Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories; conserve resources when able
Troubleshoot issues with electrical components, perform PLC/communication diagnostics and repair, replace and wire motors as required.
Interface with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to document maintenance work, parts usage, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment, and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures
Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement
Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Collaborate with Director of Operations on maintenance tasks and issues
Assist with training and onboarding additional maintenance technicians as we scale

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

Proven experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
Experience in dealing with advanced electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC and instrumentation
Read and understand operating manuals. Ability to interpret and analyze electrical and electronic diagrams or schematics.
Possess knowledge, demonstrate competency in, and obey all applicable company, state, and federal safety policies, standards and regulations
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance functions
Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools
Strong work ethic, time management and organizational and team membership skills.
Ability to communicate well and to work with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance documentation.
Physical Requirements:

Ability stand and walk for prolonged periods
Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery with hands
Ability to reach vertically and horizontally with hands and arms
Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance

Work Schedule:

1st shift, 10 hour shift, some weekend work and on call work may be required
