Thank you for another excellent annual meeting! We had a wide variety of companies present with a lot of first time attendees. There is a brief recap of events below, as well as the slide deck from the event.
- Tours of CMCC’s Precision Machining Technology Facilities: The Precision Machining Technology Certificate introduces students to a variety of entry-level precision machining concepts and methods. Through in-classroom and hands-on training in their state-of-the-art technology lab, students learn skills needed to enter the machining industry as an entry-level operator.
- Hall of Fame Ceremony: We inducted Alan LaPoint, Jack Samson, and Phil Roland into the Manufacturers Hall of Fame.
- Above & Beyond Award: State Representative Sawin Millett received the Above & Beyond Award.
- City of Auburn Community Excellence Award: The City of Auburn will presented the Community Excellence Award to Panolam Surface Systems.
- Keynote Speaker John Austin from Dynamic Foresight: Future-proofing your Company: Anticipating the Future of Maine’s Manufacturing Workforce. What if you could see around the corner? With the increasing speed of change, uncertainty, and complexity in today’s world, the ability to anticipate external shifts in the environment is more important than ever. Dr. John Austin will introduce techniques from the field of strategic foresight and share several ways you can help your leadership team embrace strategic uncertainty and thrive in today’s uncertain environment. John will explore the future of Maine’s Manufacturing Workforce and lead a discussion of how foresight can help build towards a preferred future while also preparing for more challenging futures.
